As we draw the curtains on 2023, Waiys proudly celebrate three years of dedicated activities and unwavering resilience. We are pleased to share some insight into the future trajectory of our company.
From our initial days to our current standing, Waiys has embraced collaboration to overcome challenges, cultivate meaningful contacts, and establish a strong market presence. The diligent efforts of our previous CEO, and Chairman, Olav Skalmeraas, have been instrumental in positioning us where we are today.
Waiys achieved notable milestones at COP 28, signing multiple MOUs, including three with Pertamina, the state-owned energy company of Indonesia. Additionally, in the past year, we secured projects with multiple industry leaders, fostering cross-industrial energy innovation.
Looking ahead to 2024, our focus shifts from Business Development to Project Execution. To fortify our project delivery capabilities, our previous CEO, together with the Board, has chosen Øyvind Vesterdal as our new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2024. our previous CEO will transition to a pivotal role on the Board of Directors, focusing on Strategy and External Relations, ensuring her continued essential contribution to our company.
Øyvind Vesterdal brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in driving success within the dynamic and competitive renewable energy industry. His leadership at Norsk Solar, culminating in a successful IPO, underscores his ability to navigate both engineering and commercial aspects of the sector. Øyvind’s commitment to innovation aligns seamlessly with our company’s development phase, values, and objectives.
Additionally, effective January 1, 2024, adhering to Waiys’ periodic Chair rotation, Olav will pass the Chairman role to Tobias Hobbach, a Board member since 2021 representing our shareholder Valinor. Olav will continue to provide support as a Board member.
As we embark on this exciting chapter, we extend our deepest gratitude to our team for their hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment.
